threads, the recently introduced microblogging app by Meta, is the new platform that will enter the market as a direct rival to Twitter. According to a listing on Apple’s App Store, Threads, a text-based conversation app, will enable users to follow the same accounts they currently follow on Instagram and maintain their existing usernames.

However, people have started to raise concerns regarding the permissions and data access required by Twitter’s new rival app Threads.

Jack Dorsey, co-founder and former CEO of Twitterexpressed reservations regarding the permissions and data access demanded by Meta’s recently launched application.

Sharing a screenshot of the App Store listing, which displayed the app’s data requirements, Dorsey tweeted, “All your Threads belong to us.” Elon Musktoo, joined him and commented on the post, “Yeah”.

Twitter’s new CEO openly criticized meta and sarcastically commented, “Thank goodness they are so impeccably managed,” in response to a statement from a Meta executive about their goal of creating a “sanely run” social media platform with the Threads app.

Meanwhile, Twitter has made an announcement stating that TweetDeck, a widely used tool for managing Twitter accounts, will soon require user verification for access. This new requirement is set to be enforced within the next 30 days.

Furthermore, in addition to the verification process, Twitter has recently introduced limitations on the number of daily posts users can read.

The parent company of Facebook is preparing to launch Twitter competitor Threads app on Thursday, July 6, according to a listing on Apple Inc.’s App Store.

The Threads app was initially discovered on the Google Play store in Europe on Monday morning and later became available on the Apple App Store by Monday night, according to a report from Forbes.

The app is currently available for “pre-order” on the App Store, The App Store listing describes Threads as a platform where communities can come together to discuss various topics, both current and trending, facilitating connections with favorite creators. The app combines elements from Instagram and Twitter, potentially appealing to both existing Instagram users and new users looking for a different social media experience, reported News 18.
