Zepto, the quick-commerce platform, appeared to suffer some outages on Sunday, with users reporting issues with its app and website, according to Downdetector. Data from outage-tracking service Downdetector showed a sharp spike in user reports at around 1:59 pm IST (4:29 am Eastern Time) on Sunday.

Zepto is reportedly down for several users.

The outage-tracking platform also showed that Meta’s Facebook and Instagram were experiencing similar outages. As of 0746 GMT, Facebook users in the United States had filed 4,808 reports, with 63% reporting issues accessing the website. Another 2,829 reports were filed by Instagram users in the US as of 0818 GMT on Sunday, with users reporting problems accessing the app.

Social media users shared screenshots of the disruption. Several complained about connectivity issues with the app, while others highlighted problems, particularly with the payment system. Here are some of the reactions:

Zepto is a quick commerce platform focused on ultra-fast delivery of groceries and daily essentials through a large network of dark stores. The platform offers a wide range of FMCG products, household electronics, cosmetics, and fruits and vegetables.

The platform operates through a dark store-led supply chain where merchant partners offer FMCG products sourced from manufacturers and brands, and fruits and vegetables sourced from the farmer partner network across India.

Orders are fulfilled through an in-house logistics system that matches demand with delivery partners, digitises payments, and provides visibility into earnings and payouts.

Zepto earns revenue from the sale of goods and services, including warehousing, packaging, and last-mile charges from merchant partners, advertisement revenue from brand partners, and platform commission charges from merchant partners.

Global outage disrupts Facebook and Instagram services

Thousands of users reported problems accessing Meta’s Facebook and Instagram on Sunday, with many also experiencing issues with other Meta services, including Messenger.

According to user reports, Facebook displayed an “Account Temporarily Unavailable” message for some users, while Instagram users said they were unable to load stories, refresh their feeds or access parts of the app.

Can users fix the Facebook and Instagram issues?

The “Account Temporarily Unavailable” message on Facebook can sometimes appear because of a site outage, a cache problem or action taken against an individual account.

Users can try clearing their browser or app cache or contacting Facebook through its official support channels. However, if the problem is caused by a wider outage, these steps are unlikely to resolve the issue.

Instagram users experiencing blank feeds or stories that fail to load can try clearing the app cache, force-closing and reopening the app, or checking their internet connection. Logging out and signing back in may also help in some cases.

However, if the disruption is linked to a reported global outage, user-side troubleshooting is unlikely to restore access until Meta resolves the issue.
