Republican U. S. presidential candidate Donald Trump has denied reports that he had considered JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon or BlackRock’s chairman and CEO Larry Fink for the position of U. S. Treasury secretary.

In a Truth Social post, Trump said that he “never discussed, or thought of, Jamie Dimon or Larry Fink for Secretary of the Treasury and I don’t know who said it or where it came from, perhaps the Radical Left.”

This clarification was made at a time when there were speculations on possible candidates for his cabinet. The post sought to rule out any possibility of these big financial personalities being in the running for the Treasury position.

The clarification was made at the backdrop of ongoing rumors about possible individuals who may be part of Trump’s administration if he wins the presidential election. There was earlier speculations that Trump was eyeing both Dimon and Fink for the Treasury Secretary role,though there were conflicting signals coming from Trump’s team.
