Amid the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence in nearly every domain, more than 74 percent of Indians are worried that artificial intelligence will take their jobs in future, according to latest Microsoft report.

The recent insight of the Microsoft Work Trend Index 2023 report reveals that 90 percent of Indian leaders are of opinion that employees need to be prepared for the growth of artificial intelligence(AI).

Research tries to find out answers on questions related to AI and future of work force with the help of a survay conducted on 31,000 people across 31 countries. Out of them about 1,000 people are from India.

“Research shows 83 percent of Indian employees are willing to delegate as much work as possible to AI to lessen their workload,” the report said. More than 3 in 4 Indian leaders (84 per cent) said that they are concerned about lack of innovation.

The report highlighted the popular opinion among employees about the meetings. Nearly half of the surveyed employees believe that their productivity is disrupted because of inefficient meetings. As per the report, 46 per cent of the Indian workers feel that their absence in half or more of their meetings would go unnoticed by colleagues.

The report revealed that employees other than AI experts need new core competencies like prompt engineering in their day-to-day lives.

“90 percent of Indian leaders say employees they hire will need new skills to be prepared for the growth of AI. 78 percent of Indian workers say they don’t currently have the right capabilities to get their work done,” the report said. .

Microsoft India Country Head – Modern Work Bhaskar Basu believes that AI promises to be a big transformation for work due to its evolving nature.

He also added that the next generation of AI will unlock a new wave of productivity growth. It will also help workers to get rid of drudgery from their jobs and will open new opportunities to discover creativity. The opportunity and responsibility for every organization and leader is to ensure right AI testing and experiment new ways of working to build a brighter future for everyone.
