Microsoft Corp on Tuesday started making available to users a host of AI upgrades, including to ChatGPT, its search engine Bing as well as to cloud services – an expansive launch that seeks to narrow the gap with Alphabet Inc’s Google.

Microsoft Build 2023 keynote session witnessed CEO Satya Nadella announcing the AI copilot stack, copilot for Windows 11, Bing search experience for ChatGPT, Microsoft Fabric, and more.

Here are the key highlights from the Microsoft’s big event below:

Windows 11 is getting an AI Copilot

Microsoft is bringing its AI personal assistant, called Copilot, to Windows 11. This is the same assistant that Microsoft already integrates across Edge, Office apps, and GitHub.

The Windows Copilot, however, will live within the taskbar. Microsoft informed the company will start testing the feature publicly next month before rolling it out to more users.

Copilot plug-ins will eliminate the need to think about the interface.

Microsoft 365 Copilot will support plug-ins

The AI assistant will now support three main types of plug-ins, including Teams messages extensions, Power Platform connectors, and tools that use technology from ChatGPT. Users can choose from third-party plug-ins.
