We are disabling Browse while we fix this\u2014want to do right by content owners.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 OpenAI (@OpenAI) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OpenAI\/status\/1676072388436594688?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">July 4, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">Subscribers to ChatGPT Plus receive access to features not available to free users, including access to the more powerful GPT-4, Browse with Bing, and the GPT-4 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/144661\/unleash-chatgpt-the-top-7-plugins-you-should-know-in-2023\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\">Plugins<\/a> Store.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">&#8220;As of July 3, 2023, we&#8217;ve disabled the Browse with Bing beta feature out of an abundance of caution while we fix this in order to do right by content owners,&#8221; OpenAI said.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\" style=\"display:inline-block\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">In February, Microsoft, which has invested over <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/01\/23\/business\/microsoft-chatgpt-artificial-intelligence.html\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\">$13 billion<\/a> in OpenAI, integrated ChatGPT into its Bing Browser.  In March, OpenAI launched GPT-4, and the ability to browse was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/140369\/chatgpt-web-browsing-google-bard-microsoft-bing\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\">added<\/a> to the chatbot in May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">Despite OpenAI disabling Browse with Bing, several <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/146439\/chatgpt-plugins-productivity-ai\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\">GPT-4 plugins<\/a> allow users to ask the chatbot to read URLs and PDFs and ask questions about the content of the link provided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">&#8220;It seems like OpenAI is working against the paid users of ChatGPT Plus,&#8221; a ChatGPT Plus user said on OpenAI&#8217;s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/community.openai.com\/t\/chatgpt4-browsing-bing-disabled\/286800\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\">forums<\/a>,  &#8220;This time they&#8217;re taking away Browsing, because it reads the content of a site that the user asks for?
