Caroline Pham of the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) recently appointed Rettig to serve on the CFTC&#8217;s Global Markets Advisory Committee&#8217;s Subcommittee on Global Market Structure, Technical Issues, and Digital Asset Markets. <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/polygon-labs-president-testifies-on-internet-democracy-with-web3-and-blockchains\"><strong><em>Polygon Labs president testifies on democratizing the internet with Web3, blockchains<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The change in leadership comes as Polygon has been <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/polygon-2-0-introduces-upgrades-to-tap-into-value-layer-of-internet\">preparing a set of upgrades<\/a> aimed at establishing the &#8220;Value Layer&#8221; of the internet \u2014 a move branded as &#8220;Polygon 2.0.&#8221;  The platform said it will move forward on plans to establish &#8220;decentralized governance&#8221; by July 17. <\/p>\n<p>In March, the platform <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/polygon-becomes-second-largest-gaming-blockchain-after-user-activity-surges-in-march\">became the second-largest blockchain gaming network<\/a> in the number of unique active wallets, overtaking Hive.
