{"id":119650,"date":"2023-07-08T10:17:31","date_gmt":"2023-07-08T10:17:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/arbitrum-whats-behind-the-plummeting-transaction-count-crypto-news\/"},"modified":"2023-07-08T10:17:34","modified_gmt":"2023-07-08T10:17:34","slug":"arbitrum-whats-behind-the-plummeting-transaction-count-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/arbitrum-whats-behind-the-plummeting-transaction-count-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Arbitrum: What&#8217;s behind the plummeting transaction count?\n &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Arbitrum recently crossed the 9 million total addresses count.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>However, the daily transactions count on the network is falling.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the cumulative count of distinct addresses on Layer 2 (L2) platform <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/search\/arbitrum\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Arbitrum [ARB]<\/a>  recently crossed the 9-million mark, daily transactions on the optimistic rollup network were dwindling, on-chain data revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Realistic or not, here&#8217;s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/marketcap\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">ARB&#8217;s market cap in BTC&#8217;s terms<\/a><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of July 7, the total number of addresses on Arbitrum was 9.67 million, per data from <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/arbiscan.io\/chart\/tx\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ArbiScan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,  Information from the same data provider revealed that the network has been plagued by a decline in daily transactions since the end of Q1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the count of daily transactions on Arbitrum registered an all-time high of 2.73 million on 23 March, it has since trended downwards.  In Q2, this fell consistently by over 50%. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of 7 July, daily transactions completed on Arbitrum totaled 742,667, declining by 73% from 23 March&#8217;s high.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_325944\" style=\"width: 1210px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/statics.ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/chart-1.png\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-325944\" class=\"size-full wp-image-325944\" src=\"https:\/\/statics.ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/chart-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/statics.ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/chart-1.png 1200w, https:\/\/statics.ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/chart-1-300x275.png 300w, https:\/\/statics.ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/chart-1-1024x939.png 1024w, https:\/\/statics.ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/chart-1-768x704.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\"\/><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-325944\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: ArbiScan<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While Arbitrum dealt with a shortfall in its daily transactions, data from <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/data\/scaling-solutions\/optimistic-rollups\/transaction-count-daily-7dma\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Block<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  showed a steady increment in daily transactions completed on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/search\/OP\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">optimism [OP]<\/a>  since the beginning of May. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the data provider, the daily transactions count of a 7-day moving average has since climbed by over 200%. However, as of July 7, this has plummeted to under 300 million. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, despite the continued drop in DEX activity, Arbitrum&#8217;s total value locked (TVL) has increased since the beginning of June.
