{"id":119760,"date":"2023-07-08T19:03:09","date_gmt":"2023-07-08T19:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/crypto-hiring-binance-loses-exec-trio-as-regulators-circle-crypto-news\/"},"modified":"2023-07-08T19:03:11","modified_gmt":"2023-07-08T19:03:11","slug":"crypto-hiring-binance-loses-exec-trio-as-regulators-circle-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/crypto-hiring-binance-loses-exec-trio-as-regulators-circle-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Crypto hiring: Binance loses exec trio as regulators circle\n &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Binance has lost three executives as the exchange has continued to fend off a number of regulatory probes worldwide. <\/p>\n<p>The people parting ways with Binance include General Counsel Hon Ng, as well as Patrick Hillmann, chief strategy officer, plus Steven Christie, who held the title of senior vice president for compliance, Fortune originally <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/crypto\/2023\/07\/06\/binance-crisis-executives-quit-changpeng-zhao-justice-department\/\">Reported<\/a>,<\/p>\n<p>A former Asia Pacific-based legal executive, Eleanor Hughes has since been elevated to Binance&#8217;s open general counsel seat. <\/p>\n<p>Hillmann on Twitter said he was leaving.<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blockworks.co\/news\/binance-strategy-officer-resign\">on good terms<\/a>with Binance, and Christie <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SKChristie9\/status\/1677116795499712512\">said<\/a> he was &#8220;simply tired&#8221; after spending the last six years working on compliance projects for Kraken and Binance.<\/p>\n<p>Binance didn&#8217;t immediately respond to a request for comment. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"shakeups-at-microstrategy-polygon-labs\">Shakeups at MicroStrategy, Polygon Labs<\/h2>\n<p>MicroStrategy lost Chief Revenue Officer <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/kevinadkisson\/\">Kevin Adkisson<\/a> thisweek.<\/p>\n<p>After working for MicroStrategy for nearly seven years in four different sales positions, Adkisson resigned from the role on Wednesday, according to an SEC <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.microstrategy.com\/content\/dam\/website-assets\/collateral\/financial-documents\/financial-document-archive\/form-8-k_7-7-2023.pdf\">Filing<\/a>,  He&#8217;s set to stay on as an advisor.<\/p>\n<p>MicroStrategy CEO and President <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/phong-le-b53520\/\">Phong Le<\/a> took over Adkisson&#8217;s responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, Polygon Labs <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/0xMarcB\/status\/1677328617632661506\">promoted<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/marcboiron\/\">Marc Boiron<\/a> from chief legal officer to CEO.  Boiron has worked at a number of law firms advising companies about blockchain technology.  His most recent gig prior: chief legal officer at crypto trading platform dYdX.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/rebecca-rettig-8b90a284\/\">Rebecca Rettig<\/a> will be <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RebeccaRettig1\/status\/1677329566472327171\">taking over<\/a> as chief legal officer.  Rettig joined Polygon this January as chief policy officer.  She had that same role at Aave before that and had a brief stint as a board member for Silvergate Bank in March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Also, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ryancwyatt\/\">Ryan Wyatt<\/a> will be <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Fwiz\/status\/1677322803563864065\">stepping down<\/a> as president of Polygon at the end of July to serve in an advisory role.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"other-notable-hires\">Other notable hires<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>ETC Group, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blockworks.co\/news\/wintermute-liquidity-provider-crypto-etp\">a European crypto ETP provider<\/a>is ditching its co-CEO model. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/tibevan\/?originalSubdomain=uk\">Tim Bevan<\/a> will take over as the sole chief executive of the company, and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/bradley-duke-26b223\/?originalSubdomain=uk\">Bradley Duke<\/a> will become chief strategy officer.<\/li>\n<li>Hong Kong has recently <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" node=\"[object Object]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.info.gov.hk\/gia\/general\/202306\/30\/P2023063000579.htm\">Staffed<\/a> its Web3 development task force it introduced in February.
