she told <i>decrypt<\/i>,  &#8220;I use it as my inspiration, like a muse. In the abstract images it creates, I can see a horse, a leg, a person.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">From there, she manipulates the image to create a digital painting, occasionally blending it with multiple different techniques, like 3D or photography.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">\u201cFrom something that doesn&#8217;t resemble anything, I sculpt an artwork that corresponds to what I saw in the AI-generated image,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\" style=\"display:inline-block\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"sc-2ed2039d-2 hmmXcn gg-dark:text-white scene:font-itc-avant-garde-gothic-pro scene:font-light\" style=\"margin-top:2em;text-align:left;padding-bottom:16px;margin-bottom:16px;border-bottom:1px solid #dfe2e4\" color=\"#333\">dreams and nightmares<\/h2>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">Pasanen says her artistic universe is inspired by everything around her, from small sticks and tiny ants to a word someone has said, populated by fantastical hybrid creatures made of flower petals, feathers, or smoke.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">&#8220;The outcome depends on my mood,&#8221; she said.  \u201cIf I&#8217;m happy, it will be a joyful artwork;  if I&#8217;m sad, it will be really dark. in the Mask Obscura Series, by Jenni Pasanen.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">When she creates, Pasanen primarily uses Photoshop and the AI \u200b\u200bsoftware Artbreeder as her tools of choice, recently adding Stable Diffusion to the mix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">&#8220;The moment I discovered Artbreeder, I fell in love with it,&#8221; she says.  &#8220;I&#8217;m still using it to this day even though it&#8217;s one of the oldest programs to create with AI.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">She relishes the element of surprise that comes with using tools she cannot fully control, including Stable Diffusion and Artbreeder and the contrast between their approaches.  Whenever new AI tools are released, she is eager to experiment with them and incorporate them into her work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">&#8220;I usually describe my style as a layered cake,&#8221; she explained.  \u201cI just stack one layer on top of another.  Nowadays I zigzag, I paint and then throw image in Stable Diffusion, take something from Artbreeder, the add them together and paint, draw, and move in Photoshop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">Her artistic endeavors have encompassed a wide range of mediums, from acrylic painting and clay sculpting to sewing and animation\u2014she has even learned coding and 3D.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro scene:font-noto-sans scene:text-base scene:sm:text-lg font-normal text-lg md:text-xl md:leading-9 tracking-px text-body gg-dark:text-neutral-100\">However, out of all the mediums she explored, digital design in school, Jenni transitioned into a career in design and animation, working on branding and marketing.
