The developer behind the Ethereum (<\/span>ETH<\/span><\/a>) layer-2 scaling solution Polygon (<\/span>Matic<\/span><\/a>) just announced the promotion of its chief legal officer to CEO.<\/span><\/p>\n Web3 veteran Marc Boiron is taking the helm of Polygon Labs as the company’s president, Ryan Watt, is set to step down at the end of the month to take on an advisory role.<\/span><\/p>\n Before joining Polygon, Boiron worked in a blockchain and digital assets-focused law practice and led the legal department of the decentralized exchange (DEX) dYdX. <\/span><\/p>\n Polygon co-founder and executive chairman Sandeep Nailwal <\/span>says<\/span><\/a> Boiron will work closely with him.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cToday, we announced that web3 OG (Mark Boiron) is stepping into the newly created CEO role reporting directly to the founders.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n Marc is a highly regarded web3 veteran and innovator with a super deep understanding of web3 tech. He has served as an advisor to leading crypto funds of the space. Marc has helped drive many of the most successful DeFi protocols.
