{"id":122334,"date":"2023-07-14T07:15:45","date_gmt":"2023-07-14T07:15:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/sam-bankman-fried-wants-close-friends-to-visit-without-a-security-pat-down-crypto-news\/"},"modified":"2023-07-14T07:15:48","modified_gmt":"2023-07-14T07:15:48","slug":"sam-bankman-fried-wants-close-friends-to-visit-without-a-security-pat-down-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/sam-bankman-fried-wants-close-friends-to-visit-without-a-security-pat-down-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Sam Bankman-Fried wants &#8216;close friends&#8217; to visit without a security pat down\n &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-v-b01e4970=\"\">\n<p>Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried wants to be able to have his &#8220;close friends&#8221; visit him at his parent&#8217;s home without them being subject to security checks. <\/p>\n<p>In a July 13 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/66631291\/174\/united-states-v-bankman-fried\/\">letters<\/a> to New York District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan, lawyers representing Bankman-Fried requested the judge allow &#8220;close friends&#8221; on a submitted list to visit him without needing to go through court-ordered security measures set out in his bail conditions.<\/p>\n<p>These include having a security guard present at the house to screen visitors for electronic devices and having visitors sign an electronic visitor log. <\/p>\n<p>Currently, only Bankman-Fried&#8217;s lawyers and employees of his contracted law firm are exempt from the checks.  Lawyers have asked for the measure to extend to visitors &#8220;pre-approved&#8221; by the court. <\/p>\n<p>The list \u2014 which was viewed by prosecutors with no objections \u2014 includes \u201cclose friends and colleagues of Mr.  Bankman-Fried&#8217;s parents and household help that regularly visit the house,&#8221; according to the letter.<\/p>\n<p>The list was filed under seal with the lawyers arguing that the privacy and safety of those mentioned &#8220;greatly outweigh any presumption of access to the list.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The first page of the letter by Bankman-Fried&#8217;s lawyers sent to Judge Kaplan.
