The firm added that services that require additional expenses, such as interest payments or operational expenses, have been suspended.<\/p>\n<p>On June 14, Delio abruptly <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/south-korean-bitcoin-lending-platform-delio-pauses-withdrawals\">halted withdrawals and deposits<\/a> on its platform &#8220;in order to safely protect the assets of customers currently in custody&#8221; \u2014 from market volatility caused by the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-yield-platform-haru-suspends-transfers-after-investigation\">halting of deposits and withdrawals<\/a> at sister lending company Haru Invest. <\/p>\n<p>Haru had invested himself <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-yield-platform-haru-suspends-transfers-after-investigation\">halted withdrawals on June 13<\/a> after an investigation revealed that certain information provided by its consignment operator B&#038;S Holdings was false. On June 27, the company reopened withdrawals for some of its staking services.<\/p>\n<p>However, as of June 30 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalasset.works\/news\/articleView.html?idxno=3228\">reports<\/a> from Digital Asset, the move has not stopped the FSC launching an investigation into and later suing Delio based on the abrupt suspension of withdrawals. <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/uk-bank-licences-nigel-farage-coutts-dispute\"><strong><em>UK banks risk losing licenses for debanking customers over political views<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The FSC sued Delio for fraud, embezzlement and breach of trust related to the &#8220;unilateral decision&#8221; to suspend user deposits and withdrawals on June 14. Additionally, its CEO Jeong Sang-ho and others were banned from leaving the country.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2018, Delio is one of South Korea&#8217;s largest crypto lending platforms, offering a wide range of custody, lending and staking services.
