Bankrupt crypto exchange FTX on Friday revealed that its claims agent in the bankruptcy case Kroll suffered a cybersecurity breach. Non-sensitive customer data of certain claimants is compromised. FTX is closely monitoring the situation and its account passwords, systems, and funds are not affected by the incident.<\/p>\n

FTX Claimants Data Compromised in Kroll\u2019s Security Incident<\/h2>\n

Beleaguered crypto exchange FTX took<\/a> to X on August 25 to inform its customers, creditors, and the community that its claims agent Kroll has suffered a cybersecurity breach. The incident has compromised non-sensitive customer data of certain claimants in the pending bankruptcy case.<\/p>\n

FTX said Kroll currently notifying individuals affected by the cybersecurity incident measures they can take to protect themselves. The bankrupt crypto exchange cleared that its account passwords and systems are safe.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe incident occurred at Kroll, and Kroll is notifying affected individuals directly with measures that customers can take to protect themselves. FTX account passwords were not maintained by Kroll, and FTX\u2019s own systems were not affected.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Moreover, FTX Debtors have reached out to Kroll and closely monitoring the situation. Kroll disclosed to debtors that they have promptly contained and remediated the incident. Customers are requested to be alert regarding attempted fraud and scam emails impersonating parties in the bankruptcy.<\/p>\n

Bankrupt crypto lender Celsius Network also suffered<\/a> a data breach that led to their emails being leaked. The leak has caused a significant impact on the bankruptcy reorganization.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, blockchain sleuth ZachXBT posted that FTX customers are already receiving phishing emails and the personal data of customers are compromised.<\/p>\n
