PancakeSwap<\/a>, the leading decentralized exchange on BNB Chain, is expanding to the Coinbase-incubated Ethereum layer-2 network Base.<\/p>\n

Its move to Base is part of the ongoing multi-chain expansion from the PancakeSwap team.<\/p>\n

After Base, the exchange is also live on four other Ethereum rollups in Polygon\u2019s zkEVM, zkSync Era, Arbitrum, and Linea.<\/p>\n

Currently, 94.8% of PancakeSwap\u2019s total $1.37 billion in liquidity sits on the BNB Chain, per DeFiLlama data<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The project aims to leverage Coinbase’s ecosystem, which \u201cbrings the power of mainstream crypto adoption\u201d and helps in building a \u201cmore inclusive DeFi landscape,\u201d according to an announcement shared with Decrypt<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The DEX landscape on Base<\/h2>\n

PanswapSwap joins Uniswap<\/a>, SushiSwap<\/a>, and 1inch<\/a>, which recently launched on Base after its mainnet went live<\/a> on August 9.<\/p>\n

A new exchange on Base, Aerodrome, has also made a noteworthy impact<\/a> on the network.<\/p>\n

Launched on August 29<\/a>, by the Velodrome team on Optimism<\/a>, Aerodrome climbed to the top position among Base DEXs by total deposits, per DeFiLlama data<\/a>, thanks to the introduction of liquidity mining for its native governance token, AERO.<\/p>\n

The Ethereum layer-2 user activity surged due to social media app Friend.tech.<\/p>\n

The number of daily transactions surpassed<\/a> Ethereum at its peak. However, the network activity subsided along with a drastic fall in Friend.tech usage<\/a>.<\/p>\n
