Ivan Bianco, a blockchain gaming-focused YouTuber based in Brazil who runs the channel Fraternidade Crypto<\/a>, apparently had nearly $60,000 worth of cryptocurrency and a stash of NFTs<\/a> stolen this week after accidentally revealing his crypto wallets’ seed phrases<\/a> during a livestream.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the stream, Bianco opened a document that revealed his seed phrases, a move that allowed unknown individuals to take control of his wallets and allegedly steal his funds. Fraternidade Crypto has approximately 34,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 2.2 million views across all videos since 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

On a subsequent <\/span>livestream<\/span><\/a>, Bianco was seen crying and explaining to viewers what had happened. He said that he tried to create a new wallet once he realized that he\u2019d exposed his seed phrases, but the cryptocurrency from <\/span>two<\/span><\/a> wallets<\/span><\/a> had already been taken within minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bianco shared the address for the <\/span>Polygon<\/span><\/a> wallet<\/span><\/a> that swiped about 86,600 MATIC, which was worth about $50,800 at the time of the theft. Another <\/span>3.35 ETH<\/span><\/a> ($5,750) worth of his stolen funds are still stuck in someone else\u2019s wallet on <\/span>Arbitrum<\/span><\/a>, according to <\/span>the streamer<\/span><\/a>. Other, smaller amounts of crypto were also allegedly swiped by other users.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bianco confirmed to <\/span>Decrypt <\/span><\/i>via email that he lost roughly $60,000 total worth of tokens along with NFTs. <\/span>Protos<\/span><\/i> reported<\/span><\/a> that Bianco filed a police report after losing the funds. In an email to <\/span>Decrypt<\/span><\/i>, the YouTuber confirmed that he had spoken with the police.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe police don\u2019t understand much about this, so I think this will take time,\u201d Bianco told <\/span>Decrypt<\/span><\/i>. \u201cI’ll have to look for it myself together with the community.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

After the funds were stolen, Bianco said that an unidentified man contacted him on Discord. They connected for a call, and Bianco claims that the individual said he had stolen the YouTuber\u2019s crypto and regretted his actions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe said, \u2018I fucked up here, I know what I did was bad,\u2019 and he just hung up and left,\u201d Bianco reportedly <\/span>said<\/span><\/a> after the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the call, the wallet that stole the majority of the funds returned the 86,600 MATIC to Bianco. Bianco confirmed to <\/span>Decrypt <\/span><\/i>that about $50,000 total worth of cryptocurrency was returned to him. Some of Bianco\u2019s fans reportedly questioned the legitimacy of the course of events, but Bianco rejected those claims.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t do anything to recover it. The guy wanted to return it for some reason,\u201d Bianco <\/span>said<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The YouTuber appears to have learned the thief\u2019s identity\u2014but doesn\u2019t want to divulge the information.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI won\u2019t say his name, because the guy returned it and there\u2019s no reason for me to screw him, even though what he did was wrong,\u201d Bianco <\/span>said<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As for other people who allegedly stole smaller amounts of cryptocurrency from his wallet, Bianco told <\/span>Decrypt <\/span><\/i>that they \u201care being tracked and will be located.\u201d <\/span>Going forward, the streamer hopes that the videos of the incident can \u201cserve as a warning to everyone\u201d to not repeat his mistake.<\/span><\/p>\n
