The public rollout coincides with a recent loosening of restrictions related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the People\u2019s Republic of China. <\/p>\n<p>A set of guidelines published by the Chinese government in June dictated that, going forward, all AI technologies released to the public would require a special vetting and certification process. <\/p>\n<p>The rules went into effect on Aug. 15. Previous versions of the legislation called for monetary fines, but as Cointelegraph reported, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/china-s-new-ai-regulations-begin-to-take-effect\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/china-s-new-ai-regulations-begin-to-take-effect\/amp\">those plans were axed<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>As China explores a loosening of its regulations, the United States has taken only preliminary steps to regulate AI technologies.
