Economists at Scotiabank analyze <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/currencies\/usdcad\">USD\/CAD<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/rates-charts\/forecast\">outlook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"fxs_headline_medium\">CAD shorts building again<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The USD\u2019s recent appreciation seems to have run out of gas again in the 1.36\/1.37 range, perhaps not unlike the spring. Historically, USD\/CAD forays above 1.35 tend to be limited in terms of scope and duration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>CAD gains \u2013 so far \u2013 are limited and there is enough event risk ahead to keep markets cautious on the prospects for the CAD recovery to extend. But it remains somewhat undervalued and perhaps oversold on the charts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Friday\u2019s CFTC data reflected a further build-up on net CAD short positioning \u2013 just as the CAD is showing tentative signs of steadying \u2013 again, similar to the March\/April period.
