A prominent crypto venture capitalist is naming the blockchain projects that he believes are the core networks in the digital asset space.<\/p>\n
Chris Burniske, the founder of Placeholder Capital, tells<\/a> his 263,400 followers on the social media platform X that he believes five crypto projects have distinguished themselves.<\/p>\n Burniske lists the networks and includes each project\u2019s defining characteristic in a single word.<\/p>\n \u201cBitcoin: conservatism. <\/em><\/p>\n Ethereum: optimism. <\/em><\/p>\n Solana: speed. <\/em><\/p>\n Cosmos: sovereignty. <\/em><\/p>\n Celestia: availability.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n According to Burniske, the project\u2019s unique value proposition attracts <\/a>both users and developers and gets them to stick around for the long haul.<\/p>\n \u201cFor core networks, often I find there\u2019s a defining characteristic that attracts a community to come and stay because that network offers that characteristic better than any other network. <\/em><\/p>\n Furthermore, a long-term winning network is often the first to exclusively focus on that defining characteristic, as then it attracts the best talent that cares about that characteristic, only furthering its superiority in that characteristic\u2026 then, there are always copycats.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>) is trading for $26,280 at time of writing, while Ethereum (ETH<\/a>) is worth $1,587 at time of writing.<\/p>\n ETH rival Solana (SOL<\/a>) is trading for $19.39 at time of writing.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, interoperable blockchain Cosmos (ATOM<\/a>) is worth $7.03 at time of writing.<\/p>\n Celestia, a crypto project that is designed to allow developers to build blockchain-based applications for mass adoption, currently does not have a publicly traded token.<\/p>\n Don’t Miss a Beat \u2013 Subscribe<\/a> to get email alerts delivered directly to your inbox <\/span><\/em>
