The Loonie asset finds support after Canada\u2019s weak monthly Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and soft United States Personal <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/economic-calendar\/united-states\">Consumption Expenditure<\/a> (PCE) price index reports.<\/p>\n<p>The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that monthly core <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/news\/us-core-pce-inflation-preview-federal-reserve-preferred-price-indicator-expected-edge-further-down-202309290608\">PCE<\/a> expanded at a nominal pace of 0.1% in August against expectations and the former release of 0.2%. The annualized PCE has softened to 3.9% as expected from the former release of 4.3%.<\/p>\n<p>Headline PCE grew by 0.4%, doubling from July\u2019s pace but remained slower than expectations of 0.5%. The headline data was expected to remain hot due to rising energy prices. Monetary receipts at <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/markets\/commodities\/energy\/oil\">oil<\/a> stations were significantly higher as global oil prices have rallied more than 30% in the past three months.<\/p>\n<p>A decline in core expenditure data may soften consumer inflation ahead and would discourage Federal Reserve (Fed) policymakers from raising interest rates further. Meanwhile, chances that interest rates will remain steady at 5.25%-5.50% at the November monetary policy meeting have recovered to 83% from 77% on Thursday, according to the CME Fedwatch tool.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/currencies\/us-dollar-index\">The US Dollar Index<\/a> (DXY) finds interim support near 105.70. Further action in the US Dollar will be guided by the US ISM Manufacturing PMI report for September, which will be published on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Canadian Dollar comes under pressure as Canada\u2019s growth rate remained stagnant in July while investors anticipated a nominal growth at 0.1%. In June, the GDP contracted 0.2%.
