{"id":169506,"date":"2023-10-06T19:11:58","date_gmt":"2023-10-06T13:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=169506"},"modified":"2023-10-06T19:11:58","modified_gmt":"2023-10-06T13:41:58","slug":"esma-publishes-second-mica-consultation-paper-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/esma-publishes-second-mica-consultation-paper-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"ESMA publishes second MiCA consultation paper &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) is seeking feedback on the second consultation paper on the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) bill, published on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>See related article: <\/em><\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/binance-ico-raised-less-us5-mln-forbes\/\">Binance ICO raised less than US$5 mln: Forbes<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fast Facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The market regulator is <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.esma.europa.eu\/press-news\/esma-news\/esma-publishes-second-consultation-crypto-market-rules\">seeking<\/a> feedback until December 14, in five key areas: sustainability indicators of distributed ledgers, inside information disclosures, white paper requirements, trade transparency measures and record-keeping requirements for crypto service providers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>To enhance post-trade transparency, ESMA proposed service providers report trading and publication date and time, quantity of the crypto asset, pricing information, venue of execution and transaction ID.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>After receiving feedback on the 307-page <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.esma.europa.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/2023-10\/ESMA75-453128700-438_MiCA_Consultation_Paper_2nd_package.pdf\">document<\/a>, the ESMA plans to submit a final paper with the draft technical standard to the European Commission for endorsement by June 30, 2024. The regulator also plans to publish a third consultation paper in the first\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>MiCA is the European Union\u2019s legal framework for regulating digital assets. The bill requires crypto firms and exchanges to secure a license to operate across the bloc, while mandating that stablecoin issuers hold suitable reserves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Official Journal of the European Union <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/mica-rules-published-official-journal\/\">published the MiCa bill<\/a> on June 9.
