{"id":174310,"date":"2023-10-15T01:01:27","date_gmt":"2023-10-14T19:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=174310"},"modified":"2023-10-15T01:01:27","modified_gmt":"2023-10-14T19:31:27","slug":"crypto-funding-blockaid-membrane-labs-lead-a-92m-week-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/crypto-funding-blockaid-membrane-labs-lead-a-92m-week-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Crypto funding: Blockaid, Membrane Labs lead a $92M week &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Eight crypto startups raised about $92 million this week, with Blockaid drawing the biggest pot of funds among them.<\/p>\n<p>Ribbit Capital and Variant led the $33 million Series A round, with participation from Cyberstarts, Sequoia Capital, and Greylock Partners.<\/p>\n<p>Blockaid, as the name suggests, aids in network security by scanning blockchain transactions originating from wallets, as well as ones that interact with decentralized apps and smart contracts.<\/p>\n<p>The company claims that in the past three months, it has scanned 450 million user transactions and thwarted 1.2 million deemed malicious.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, crypto lender and trading firm Membrane Labs raised a $20 million round.<\/p>\n<p>Brevan Howard Digital and Point72 Ventures spearheaded the Series A round. Jane Street, Flow Traders, QCP Capital, Two Sigma Ventures, Electric Capital, Jump Crypto, Framework Ventures and others also took part in the seven-figure investment round.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-new-crypto-wallet-hits-the-block\">A new crypto wallet hits the block<\/h2>\n<p>Account Labs raised $7.7 million to build a self custodial, Polygon-based UniPass Wallet, which <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blockworks.co\/news\/account-labs-google-web3-wallet-bypass-seed-phrase\">will reportedly be focused on peer-to-peer stablecoin transfer<\/a>s.<\/p>\n<p>Also a boon for the upcoming wallet: it\u2019s enabled by Google. Specifically, this means users can use existing Google logins to set up a new address.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is slightly <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blockworks.co\/news\/mpc-wallets-security\">similar to how Trust Wallet works<\/a> \u2014 since, like UniPass, it uses Google login as a form of authentication \u2014 though Trust Wallet uses multi-party computation.
