{"id":175121,"date":"2023-10-16T17:39:16","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T12:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=175121"},"modified":"2023-10-16T17:39:16","modified_gmt":"2023-10-16T12:09:16","slug":"sec-chair-gary-gensler-standing-in-the-way-of-bitcoin-etfs-says-ark-invests-cathie-wood-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/sec-chair-gary-gensler-standing-in-the-way-of-bitcoin-etfs-says-ark-invests-cathie-wood-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC Chair Gary Gensler Standing in the Way of Bitcoin ETFs, Says ARK Invest\u2019s Cathie Wood &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The chief executive of ARK Invest says that the Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is getting in the way of a spot market Bitcoin (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailyhodl.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a>) exchange-traded fund (ETF).<\/p>\n<p>In a new interview with crypto influencer Natalie Brunell, ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8bz17AOlyvs\">says<\/a> that factions of SEC are actually very knowledgeable about Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>However, Wood notes that there seems to be a \u201cdisconnect\u201d in the agency with Gary Gensler at the helm.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c[The SEC] knows so much and they are so good that I believe this was much more Gary Gensler standing in the way. I don\u2019t know for sure because they could never say something like that. I just know from how we have discussed Bitcoin with them \u2013 they really understand it, and they understand its merits most importantly.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Wood goes on to say that she believes the SEC is gearing up to approve not just one but multiple spot Bitcoin ETFs.<\/p>\n<p><em> \u201cSo this is Gary Gensler. Why he allowed a Bitcoin futures ETF, which involves counterparty risk, and not a Bitcoin ETF, which does not involve counterparty risk?
