{"id":180494,"date":"2023-10-25T08:08:57","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T02:38:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=180494"},"modified":"2023-10-25T08:08:57","modified_gmt":"2023-10-25T02:38:57","slug":"binance-loses-two-more-top-execs-in-uk-and-france-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/binance-loses-two-more-top-execs-in-uk-and-france-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Binance loses two more top execs in UK and France &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Binance, the world\u2019s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has lost two top executives in the U.K and France over the past month, adding to a series of executive departures across its global operations amid increased regulatory scrutiny.<\/p>\n<p><em>See related article: <\/em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/binance-japan-deathknell-savior-small-exchanges\/\"><em>Binance Japan \u2014 death knell or savior for the nation\u2019s smaller crypto exchanges?<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fast Facts<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It has now emerged that Jonathan Farnell, who oversaw Binance\u2019s U.K. operations and later served as CEO of Bitfinity, a subsidiary of Binance, left the company in late September.<\/li>\n<li>Farnell has a compliance background and was involved in Binance\u2019s efforts to meet regulatory requirements in the U.K.<\/li>\n<li>The departure arrived soon after the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) imposed stricter rules on crypto asset advertising as part of the so-called \u2018Travel Rule,\u2019 which came into effect from Sept. 1.<\/li>\n<li>Binance <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/binance-halts-new-user-registration-in-the-u-k\/\">announced<\/a> Oct. 16 it will no longer accept new customers in the U.K. in compliance with the new regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Bloomberg <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-10-18\/binance-france-director-stephanie-cabossioras-exits-in-latest-senior-departure\">reported<\/a> last week that St\u00e9phanie Cabossioras, general manager of Binance France, also resigned amid escalating legal issues for the exchange in France.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>French authorities allege that Binance engaged in the illegal provision of digital asset services and money laundering.<\/li>\n<li>The departures of Farnell and Cabossioras are the latest in a series of executive exits at Binance this year.<\/li>\n<li>Other departures include Chief Strategy Officer Patrick Hillmann, Senior Vice President for Compliance Steven Christie and more across various regions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>See related article \u2013 <\/em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/binance-one-year-on-from-ftxs-downfall\/\"><em>Binance: One year on from FTX\u2019s downfall<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Binance, the world\u2019s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has lost two top executives in the U.K and France over the past month, adding to a series of executive departures across its global operations amid increased regulatory scrutiny.
