Developers Can Now Create Bespoke Blockchains Permissionlessly Leveraging Arbitrum\u2019s Infrastructure and Tooling<\/p>\n

Arbitrum Orbit, the highly-anticipated custom blockchain solution from Offchain Labs, is ready for mainnet deployment.<\/p>\n

Using Orbit, developers can now permissionlessly construct their own chains atop Arbitrum\u2019s Layer 2 infrastructure. According to the project, ten Orbit chains are already in various stages of development.<\/p>\n

A key feature of Orbit is its integration with an alternate data availability solution called AnyTrust, which further reduces transaction fees compared to Arbitrum One, the leading Layer 2 network with $1.8B in total value locked (TVL).<\/p>\n

Orbit also introduces Stylus, a tool which enables developers to write smart contracts in Rust, C, and C++ while maintaining full EVM compatibility. This allows for an enhanced developer experience and opens up new use cases, while significantly reducing gas costs by leveraging the efficiency of WebAssembly (WASM) technology.<\/p>\n

Orbit chains retain the flexibility to adopt future upgrades to Nitro, the underlying tech stack of Arbitrum.
