Lens, the decentralized social media platform from the team behind Aave, is migrating to its V2 mainnet. The process is set to begin on Oct. 30 and aims to deliver a more composable and developer-friendly ecosystem. <\/p>\n
Lens users do not need to take any action and will automatically be able to access Lens V2.<\/p>\n
\u201cMigrating to the Lens API V2 alone means you are going to get at least 2x the speed and a more scalable system,\u201d the team said.<\/p>\n
Lens witnessed a surge in users and activity in the first half of this year, with daily posts peaking above 50,000 in April, according to a Dune dashboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n However, activity has since dropped off dramatically to just 4,000 to 5,000 daily posts.<\/p>\n The migration process begins on October 30, with the Lens V1 API stopping to accept writes thereafter. It will only return old data and become read-only but remain active for three months until January 30, 2024.<\/p>\n The process of migrating on-chain data is expected to require approximately 20 million transactions behind the scenes. The migration order will depend on user activity and other factors, ensuring active and genuine users are prioritized.
