We\u2019re happy to try it as long as new risks are addressed. Our approach is consistent regardless of the asset.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>According to Bloomberg, Hong Kong currently only allows futures-based crypto ETFs and among the listed products includes the Samsung Bitcoin Futures Active as well as a Bitcoin (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailyhodl.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\">BTC<\/a>) and Ethereum (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailyhodl.com\/currencies\/ethereum\">ETH<\/a>) futures ETF issued by CSOP Asset Management.<\/p>\n<p>The possibility of spot crypto ETFs getting approved in Hong Kong comes at a time when Hong Kong\u2019s ambitions of becoming a leading digital asset hub are in high gear, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Hong Kong rolled out a virtual assets regulatory framework. On the crypto regulatory framework, Leung <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailyhodl.com\/2023\/06\/12\/coinbase-invited-to-move-to-hong-kong-by-regulators-as-sec-lawsuit-in-us-develops\/\">said<\/a>,<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<i>Hong Kong\u2019s comprehensive virtual assets regulatory framework follows the principle of \u2018same business, same risks, same rules\u2019 and aims to provide robust investor protection and manage key risks.\u2019 This will enable the industry to develop sustainably and support innovation.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Reports also emerged in June that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority had <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailyhodl.com\/2023\/06\/15\/hong-kong-regulator-admits-to-pressuring-major-global-banks-to-onboard-crypto-exchanges-as-clients-report\/\">pushed<\/a> for banks in the city-state to offer their services to licensed crypto exchanges.
