{"id":189601,"date":"2023-11-08T14:56:37","date_gmt":"2023-11-08T09:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=189601"},"modified":"2023-11-08T14:56:37","modified_gmt":"2023-11-08T09:26:37","slug":"seba-crypto-bank-receives-license-in-hong-kong-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/seba-crypto-bank-receives-license-in-hong-kong-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"SEBA crypto bank receives license in Hong Kong &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>SEBA Bank AG, a Swiss crypto bank, announced Wednesday that its subsidiary, SEBA Hong Kong, has received a license for crypto-related services from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>See related article: <\/em><\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/standard-chartered-zodia-custody-launch-hong-kong\/\">Standard Chartered\u2019s Zodia Custody to launch in Hong Kong<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fast Facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The license allows SEBA to conduct regulated activities in Hong Kong including the dealing and distribution of all securities, including virtual assets-related products such as over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>SEBA Hong Kong\u2019s licensed services are now available for institutional and professional investors, corporate treasuries, funds, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals, SEBA <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seba.swiss\/media-and-investors\/seba-hong-kong-awarded-licence-by-the-sfc\/\">said<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThis regulatory clarity not only benefits our business but also supplements Hong Kong\u2019s status as a global financial services hub,\u201d said Franz Bergmueller, chief executive officer of SEBA Bank. \u201cThe region\u2019s robust legal system provides a solid foundation to conduct crypto-related services and we look forward to beginning that from today.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>SEBA Group said this marks its first regulated footprint in the Asia-Pacific. The bank also operated regulated subsidiaries in Switzerland and Abu Dhabi.<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/hong-kong-seba-bank-crypto-approval\/\">SEBA Bank received<\/a> in-principle approval from the SFC for virtual asset trading services in late August.
