The market expectation was for a -0.2% decline.<\/p>\n<p>Annually, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/economic-calendar\/united-states\">Retail Sales<\/a> in the old continent\u00a0dropped 2.9% in the reported month, compared to -1.8% recorded in August and -3.2% expected.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"fxs_headline_medium\">FX implications<\/h2>\n<p>Mixed Eurozone data had little to no impact on the Euro. At the time of writing, the EUR\/USD pair is trading at 1.0665, down 0.29% on the day<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fxs_headline_medium\">About Eurozone Retail Sales<\/h3>\n<p>The Retail Sales released by\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\">Eurostat<\/a>\u00a0are a measure of changes in sales of\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/currencies\/eurusd\">the Euro<\/a>zone retail sector. It shows the performance of the retail sector in the short term. Percent changes reflect the rate of changes of such sales. The changes are widely followed as an indicator of consumer spending.
