{"id":191919,"date":"2023-11-11T18:43:16","date_gmt":"2023-11-11T13:13:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=191919"},"modified":"2023-11-11T18:43:16","modified_gmt":"2023-11-11T13:13:16","slug":"analyst-benjamin-cowen-issues-ethereum-alert-says-eth-to-continue-underperforming-against-bitcoin-heres-why-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/analyst-benjamin-cowen-issues-ethereum-alert-says-eth-to-continue-underperforming-against-bitcoin-heres-why-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Analyst Benjamin Cowen Issues Ethereum Alert, Says ETH To Continue Underperforming Against Bitcoin \u2013 Here\u2019s Why &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A widely followed crypto analyst is warning that Ethereum (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailyhodl.com\/currencies\/ethereum\/\">ETH<\/a>) will likely underachieve relative to Bitcoin (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dailyhodl.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a>) for a while.<\/p>\n<p>In a new video update, crypto trader Benjamin Cowen <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mNB7Dtbt3Rg\">tells<\/a> his 788,000 YouTube subscribers that he believes that Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D) will continue to rise, suggesting that Ethereum will lag behind.<\/p>\n<p>BTC.D tracks the percentage of the total market cap that belongs to Bitcoin. A bullish BTC.D chart indicates that altcoins in general, including Ethereum, are printing smaller gains than BTC.<\/p>\n<p>Says Cowen,<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMy crypto portfolio for the last couple of years has been predominantly just Bitcoin because I suspect that it will outperform most of the rest of the market \u2013 not all of the market, but most of the rest of the market \u2013 and that\u2019s why the dominance has gone higher.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cowen says that Ethereum against Bitcoin (ETH\/BTC) is facing significant resistance after dipping below a trendline and attempting to retest it.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s Bitcoin rallies that break Ether-Bitcoin down. And look at this [ETH\/BTC] breakdown. It finally broke this wedge to the downside\u2026 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It\u2019s the same thing that it did last cycle\u2026 And now we find ourselves in a position where if I connect the dots where the Ether-Bitcoin pair is potentially backtesting this trendline, the trendline that it held as support in October of 2022, in March of 2023, and in June of 2023 and in September of 2023. It\u2019s now testing it from beneath in November of 2023. Now, I contend that this could offer a significant resistance level.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_265684\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-265684\" style=\"width: 2702px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-265684\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Bejamin Cowen\/YouTube<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cowen warns that even if ETH\/BTC does make a move above the trendline, the pair will still face a number of resistance levels to the upside that it would need to flip as support to convincingly reverse the downtrend.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThere\u2019s all these resistance levels. I mean you could draw them horizontally if you prefer and just sort of look at some of these resistance levels that Ether-Bitcoin tried to hold.
