Team Liquid is working with the developers of NFT<\/a> game <\/span>Illuvium<\/span><\/a>, which has just launched in early access, to test its turn-based, player-vs-player (PVP) creature autobattler experience. Team Liquid founder and co-CEO Victor Goossens announced the collaboration Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll be limit-testing and advising them on the PVP aspect of their game,\u201d Goosens said in a video. \u201cWe\u2019ve been incredibly impressed with the quality of the game from what we\u2019ve seen so far.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Team Liquid members like League of Legends player \u201c<\/span>Broxah<\/span><\/a>\u201d and content creator \u201c<\/span>Midbeast<\/span><\/a>\u201d will be among those from the esports organization checking out Illuvium, according to the organization\u2019s CEO.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are confident that this will be a game that rewards skill and strategy,” he explained, “much like many of the games that Liquid participates in today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Today we are excited to announce our partnership with @illuviumio<\/a> \ud83d\udd25<\/p>\n We are excited to playtest their new competitive PvP autobattler, expand our brand into their game universe, and guide their esports strategy into 2024. pic.twitter.com\/aai7cGxWa0<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Team Liquid (@TeamLiquid) November 29, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n Team Liquid, which raised $35 million<\/a> in funding last year at a $415 million valuation, will also be working with Illuvium to develop the game\u2019s <\/span>esports<\/span><\/a> scene and tournaments in 2024 by co-hosting an esports tournament with a <\/span>$100,000 prize pool<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The game will also release Team Liquid-themed Illuvium NFTs in the form of character skins and avatars as part of the collaboration. Illuvium is built on Immutable X<\/a>, an Ethereum<\/a> scaling network focused on gaming.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis collaboration is more than just two names shaking hands,\u201d the Illuvium team wrote in a <\/span>blog post<\/span><\/a> Wednesday. \u201cIt’s about setting a precedent for Web3 gaming in mainstream esports.
