{"id":204175,"date":"2023-12-01T10:06:18","date_gmt":"2023-12-01T04:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=204175"},"modified":"2023-12-01T10:06:18","modified_gmt":"2023-12-01T04:36:18","slug":"antpool-offers-to-refund-affected-user-the-83-btc-transaction-fee-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/antpool-offers-to-refund-affected-user-the-83-btc-transaction-fee-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"AntPool offers to refund affected user the 83-BTC transaction fee &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-v-8081b7b6=\"\">\n<p>The cryptocurrency mining platform AntPool released an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.antpool.com\/newsDetail\/457-Announcement%20for%20Claiming%2083BTC%20Gas%20Fee\">update<\/a> on Nov. 30, saying it will refund the transaction fee of 83 Bitcoin (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/bitcoin-price\">BTC<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>It said its risk control system temporarily froze the fee when packaging the transaction, and therefore, after the affected user verifies their identity, it will refund the fee.<\/p>\n<p>The affected user has until 00:00 (UTC+8) on Dec. 10 to submit their details to AntPool via preparing a signing tool, either Electrum or Bitcoin Core, and then using a private key of a wallet address given by AntPool sign the message with the code \u201cAntPool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Nov. 23, one Bitcoin user on the platform <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-user-pays-3-1m-in-transition-fee-for-one-139-btc-transfer\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-user-pays-3-1m-in-transition-fee-for-one-139-btc-transfer\/amp\">was charged a transaction fee<\/a> of 83 BTC, which at the time equaled roughly $3.1 million, for a transfer of 139 BTC.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/pando-spot-bitcoin-etf-blackrock-revises-etf\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/pando-spot-bitcoin-etf-blackrock-revises-etf\/amp\"><strong><em>Bitcoin ETF race gets 13th entrant, BlackRock revises ETF model<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A similar situation took place in September when the stablecoin issuer <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/paxos-confirms-responsible-for-500k-mistaken-bitcoin-transaction\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/paxos-confirms-responsible-for-500k-mistaken-bitcoin-transaction\/amp\">Paxos confirmed it paid<\/a> a Bitcoin\u00a0transaction fee with a value of $500,000. The outrageous fee was charged to move $2,000 worth of BTC.<\/p>\n<p>The Bitcoin miner who received the fee took to social media and petitioned followers what they would do in their place, with the majority voting to distribute the funds among the Bitcoin miner community.
