{"id":245200,"date":"2024-02-11T02:13:29","date_gmt":"2024-02-10T20:43:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=245200"},"modified":"2024-02-11T02:13:29","modified_gmt":"2024-02-10T20:43:29","slug":"billion-dollar-bank-charges-massive-overdraft-fee-after-10000-vanishes-from-veterans-account-in-mysterious-hack-report-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/billion-dollar-bank-charges-massive-overdraft-fee-after-10000-vanishes-from-veterans-account-in-mysterious-hack-report-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Billion-Dollar Bank Charges Massive Overdraft Fee After $10,000 Vanishes From Veteran&#8217;s Account in Mysterious Hack: Report &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A bank that built its business working with members of the military, veterans and their families reportedly rejected a customer\u2019s plea for help after thousands of dollars disappeared in a mysterious hack.<\/p>\n<p>Air Force veteran Cruzita Barron says a thief hacked into her United Services Automobile Association (USAA) account and stole a total of $10,000 in two unauthorized transfers, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/foxsanantonio.com\/newsletter-daily\/air-force-veterans-stolen-savings-result-in-long-dispute-with-usaa-fraud-banking-military-money-san-antonio\">reports<\/a> Fox News San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>Cruzita says USAA did not notify her that a substantial amount of money had left her account nor did the bank flag the transactions for suspicious activity. She only discovered the theft about a week after the incident when her card was declined as she was buying coffee.<\/p>\n<p>Cruzita got in touch with USAA who told her the thief moved her funds to another bank in an account bearing her name. She requested the bank to follow the trail of the transactions, hoping USAA would reimburse the lost funds after seeing that she was a victim of fraudulent online transfers.<\/p>\n<p>But instead of getting a refund, USAA charged an additional $1,500 because the two $5,000 transfers left her account with a negative balance, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Says\u00a0Cruzita,<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cCome on now, like how does that make sense?
