Artificial Intelligence (AI) tokens are soaring today after Sam Altman\u2019s OpenAI launched a new text-to-video AI model called Sora.<\/p>\n
The controversial<\/a> Worldcoin token, WLD, is soaring by 40% today, trading for $4.37. It has been on an astronomical rise over the past week, surging 76% in seven days. WLD\u2019s market cap is now firmly over $550 million, according to Coingecko<\/a>.<\/p>\n Worldcoin is a blockchain-based digital identity startup which uses physical orbs to scan users\u2019 retinas and establish they\u2019re a unique individual. Sora has been touted to be the Hollywood Killer thanks to its minute-long videos that are hard to tell are AI-generated.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Other AI-related crypto<\/a> tokens have also surged on Sora\u2019s launch. Bittensor<\/a> (TAO) is notching a 7% gain on the day, changing hands for $656, meanwhile Fetch.ai jumped to $0.51 today, landing a 5% increase.<\/p>\n Some investors are speculating there is value in the intersection between AI and crypto. Blockchain\u2019s distributed ledger can help decentralize and open source AI models, reducing the risk of concentrating power on single entities. Storing content metadata on-chain can also help verify the provenance of images, at a time where the lines between what\u2019s real and fake with technologies like Sora are more blurred than ever.<\/p>\n
