{"id":251570,"date":"2024-02-21T20:07:26","date_gmt":"2024-02-21T14:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/?p=251570"},"modified":"2024-02-21T20:07:26","modified_gmt":"2024-02-21T14:37:26","slug":"wormhole-inks-partnership-with-amd-amid-zero-knowledge-embrace-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/wormhole-inks-partnership-with-amd-amid-zero-knowledge-embrace-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Wormhole Inks Partnership With AMD Amid Zero-Knowledge Embrace &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AMD will provide advanced hardware and develop light clients for the Wormhole ecosystem.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Wormhole, the cross-chain interoperability protocol, is teaming up with AMD, the major semiconductor and computer processor manufacturer, to realize its zero-knowledge roadmap.<\/p>\n<p>Announced on Feb. 21, the partnership will allow Wormhole and projects operating within Wormhole\u2019s ecosystem to access AMD\u2019s enterprise-grade Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) hardware accelerators.<\/p>\n<p>The hardware, including the AMD Alveo U55C and U250 adaptable accelerator cards, can specialize in\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thedefiant.io\/zero-knowledge-2023\">zero-knowledge<\/a>\u00a0(ZK) proof generation \u2014 with the partnership following Wormhole announcing its ZK-focused development\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wormhole.com\/announcing-wormholes-zk-roadmap\/\">roadmap<\/a>\u00a0on Feb. 1. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis collaboration addresses the pressing demand for specialized hardware in the evolving decentralized computing sector,\u201d Wormhole said. \u201cAMD will also lend its deep hardware acceleration expertise to help deliver speed and scalability to multichain applications being built with Wormhole.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--$!--><!--\/$--><\/p>\n<p>Wormhole and AMD will also launch zero-knowledge light clients facilitating cross-chain messaging across more than 30 blockchain networks in the coming months as part of the deal.<\/p>\n<h2>Wormhole&#8217;s dominance<\/h2>\n<p>Wormhole is a leading cross-chain interoperability protocol,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wormholescan.io\/\">claiming<\/a>\u00a0to have facilitated the largest number of messages sent between chains all-time at 1.01B, in addition to the greatest value of cross-chain transfers at $39.8B.<\/p>\n<p>In the past 24 hours, Wormhole processed 101,804 cross-chain messages worth a combined volume of $20.9M.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of Wormhole messages are sent between the Ethereum, Sui, and Solana networks. Ethereum comprised the source network for 41.3% of messages sent between networks over the past seven days, followed by Sui with 23.5%, and Solana with 11.6%.
