Google, which is looking at YouTube Music to take a bigger bet on audio and video podcasts, had made the announcement about closure of Google Podcasts in a blogpost last year and while the app is currently shutting down in the US, it will also stop working \u00a0for users in other parts of the world in later part of the year.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"paywall\" id=\"paywall_11711952083048\">\n<p>   While Google has been reminding users about the shut down of Google Podcasts app via in-app notifications for weeks, the company has now started displaying warning on the app start page that urge users to migrate their data to YouTube Music or a podcast service of their choice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>   Notably, the Google Podcasts app is still available for download on the Play Store and Apple Store but users will not be able to use the application for streaming their popular shows from April 2. However, they will still have time to migrate their data to another application till July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>   Revealing the reason behind shutting Google Podcasts app in a blogpost, Google had stated, \u201cLooking forward to 2024, we\u2019ll be increasing our investment in the podcast experience on YouTube Music \u2014 making it a better overall destination for fans and podcasters alike with YouTube-only capabilities across community, discovery and audio\/visual switching.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>How to transfer your subscriptions to YouTube Music?<\/h2>\n<p>1) Open Google Podcasts app on your Android or iOS device and click on the Home tab.<\/p>\n<p>   2) Find the Google notification regarding the shutting down of Podcasts app and click on Export Subscriptions<\/p>\n<p>   3) Under the Export Subscriptions option, click on \u2018Export to YouTube Music\u2019<\/p>\n<p>   4) You will now be redirected to YouTube Music app and asked to select a gmail account following which your subscriptions will be added to the YouTube music app. Do note that it may take few minutes for all you subscriptions to be transferred to the YouTube Music app.<\/p>\n<p>   However, not all podcasts that you may have been listening to will be migrated to the YouTube Music app and users may get a \u2018Content is unavailable\u2019 message.
