Banking titan Wells Fargo says it suffered a data breach that exposed sensitive information on at least two of its customers.<\/p>\n
In a letter, the California-based financial giant says<\/a>\u00a0personal information and mortgage account numbers were exposed.<\/p>\n Wells Fargo says one of its employees is responsible for the data breach, although it\u2019s not clear how or why the employee accessed and revealed the information.<\/p>\n \u201cWells Fargo took appropriate actions with respect to the employee in accordance with our policies and procedures.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n In a statement to CyberNews, a Wells Fargo representative says<\/a> the employee at the center of the incident has been fired.<\/p>\n \u201cWells Fargo was not involved in a cyber-attack. An employee violated company policy for sending information to his personal account. The individual is no longer employed with Wells Fargo. <\/em><\/p>\n Two customers are receiving a data breach notification letter.
