The modest rebound of the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/currencies\/us-dollar-index\" data-fxs-autoanchor=\"\">US Dollar<\/a> (USD)\u00a0provides some support to\u00a0the pair. Traders prefer to wait on the sideline ahead of the Swiss National Bank\u2019s (SNB) Chairman Jordan speech, followed by the final reading of the US March Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index (PCE) on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The US advance estimate of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)\u00a0number\u00a0grew far less than estimated in the first quarter of 2024, according to the Bureau of Economic <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/analysis\" data-fxs-autoanchor=\"\">Analysis<\/a> on Thursday.\u00a0The US economy grew at an annualized pace of 1.6%\u00a0during the period, missing the expectation of 2.5% growth and coming in lower than fourth quarter GDP, which\u00a0was revised\u00a0up\u00a0to 3.4%. The Greenback attracted some sellers after the data was released.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, a surprising upside in the quarterly Personal <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/economic-calendar\/united-states\" data-fxs-autoanchor=\"\">Consumption Expenditure<\/a> (PCE) inflation measure suggested that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) would not cut interest <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/rates-charts\/rates\" data-fxs-autoanchor=\"\">rates<\/a> before September. The PCE figure rose at an annualized rate of 3.4% in Q1, compared to the 1.8% pace recorded in Q4 2023. The recent inflation data dampened the hope for June rate cuts,\u00a0and\u00a0investors forecast one cut this year, down from three cuts just a few weeks ago.\u00a0This, in turn, might cap the downside for the Greenback in the near term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the Swiss front, Switzerland\u2019s ZEW Survey Expectations rose to 17.6 in April from the previous reading of 11.5, the\u00a0Centre for European Economic Research revealed on Wednesday.
