The North Korean hacking outfit, Lazarus Group, could be responsible for the cyber attack on a Japanese crypto exchange in May that led to the loss of Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>) worth hundreds of millions of dollars, according to an on-chain sleuth.<\/p>\n Pseudonymous blockchain investigator ZachXBT tells<\/a> his 610,500 followers on the social media platform X\u00a0that cybercriminals have laundered over $35 million of the $305 million stolen<\/a> from DMM Bitcoin on the Asia-based online marketplace Huione Guarantee.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is suspected that Lazarus Group is behind the hack due to similarities in laundering techniques and off-chain indicators.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n According to ZachXBT, stablecoin-issuer Tether recently blacklisted<\/a> a wallet linked to Huione Guarantee that was holding $29.6 million in USDT<\/a> on the Tron (TRX<\/a>) blockchain.
