The CEO of trading giant Robinhood reportedly believes that tokenization is the future of financial services.<\/p>\n
In a new Fortune report, Robinhood head Vlad Tenev says<\/a> that the \u201cnext transition\u201d for financial services is tokenization.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t have to squint too hard to imagine a world where stocks are on blockchains.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n According to Fortune, several big name financial giants are already exploring tokenization, when assets like dollars and stocks are issued on blockchains, including BlackRock and Goldman Sachs.<\/p>\n Tenev believes tokenization has the potential to cut out costly intermediaries for financial actions like trade settlements.<\/p>\n Tenev also talks about Robinhood\u2019s $200 million acquisition<\/a> in June of crypto exchange Bitstamp.<\/p>\n Says Tenev,<\/p>\n \u201cThe cost of running a crypto business is an order of magnitude lower.
