Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI, commented on DeepSeek\u2019s recently launched r1 model. He also acknowledged its strengths while underscoring OpenAI\u2019s competitive edge and shared its long-term vision. Altman noted<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cDeepSeek\u2019s r1 is an impressive model, particularly for what they\u2019re able to deliver at the price. We will obviously deliver much better models and also it\u2019s legit invigorating to have a new competitor. We\u2019ll pull up some releases.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Sam Altman emphasized that OpenAI remains focused on executing its research roadmap moving ahead.
