Meta-owned social media giant WhatsApp has gone down for thousands of users, according to outage detection website Downdetector.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Data on the Downdetector website shows WhatsApp<\/a> being inaccessible for over 10,000 people in India at around 9.20 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In UK, over 50,000 people reported that they could not use the app.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

According to Downdetector, over 70 per cent people reported issues in sending messages, while 17 per cent people faced issues in server connection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There was no immediate statement from WhatsApp on the outage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Many users took to X, formerly Twitter, to inform that their WhatsApp was not working.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The social media platforms have also been flooded with memes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Social media users react<\/h2>\n

\u201cMe running to Twitter after rebooting my phone to see if WhatsApp is down,\u201d said one of the users.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Posting a picture of a crowd, another user said \u201cpeople quickly rushing to Twitter to confirm if WhatsApp is down.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cOne would think since it’s 2025 WhatsApp could warn us before it stops working for maintenance,\u201d said a users.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Another user said, \u201cMe running to Twitter to check if WhatsApp<\/a> is down or if my WiFi just betrayed me again\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHow many people have now come to X to see if WhatsApp is down?,\u201d said a user.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

One of the users said, \u201cStop toggling your Airplane mode on\/off. Stop refreshing your WhatsApp. It\u2019s not your network, WhatsApp is down.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

WhatsApp’s features<\/h2>\n

Last month, messaging app WhatsApp<\/a> rolled out several new features and design improvements, including introduction of camera effects, selfies into stickers, sticker pack and quicker reactions option.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The new feature enables users to enhance their photos with creative touches before sending them in chats.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
