The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is in touch with billionaire Elon Musk’s social media platform X over recent incidents of its AI chatbot Grok using Hindi slang and abusive responses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
According to a report by news agency PTI, the IT ministry<\/a> is examining the issue. It will investigate the matter and the factors that led to the use of abusive language, it said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “We are in touch, we are talking to them (X) to find out why it is happening and what are the issues. They are engaging with us,” PTI said, quoting sources from the ministry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Grok<\/a>, the powerful AI chatbot on Elon Musk\u2019s X<\/a>, shocked netizens recently. \u00a0Grok revealed its wild side when its response in Hindi came loaded with abuses and slang following provocation by users. On subjects such as politics, cinema, and celebrities, Grok has left some users bedazzled by its opinionated responses. In other instances, Grok has used regional slang and abuses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThe IT Ministry<\/a> is examining the matter,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The banter started when an X user requested that Grok provide a list of the “10 best mutuals”. After a silence, the user responded with some harsh comments. This prompted Grok to retaliate with an equally casual tone and slur-loaded response.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cHey @grok, who are my 10 best mutuals?\u201d an X user, who goes by the name Toka, asked the AI. After not getting a response for some time, the user posted again, but this time, used a Hindi expletive to refer to Elon Musk’s AI.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Grok immediately shared a response using the same slang. \u201cChill kar. Tera \u201810 best mutuals<\/a>\u2019 ka hisaab laga diya.
