{"id":385492,"date":"2025-03-29T00:07:52","date_gmt":"2025-03-28T18:37:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/anti-l2-push-could-break-the-social-fabric-of-ethereum-sandeep-nailwal-crypto-news\/"},"modified":"2025-03-29T00:12:05","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T18:42:05","slug":"anti-l2-push-could-break-the-social-fabric-of-ethereum-sandeep-nailwal-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/anti-l2-push-could-break-the-social-fabric-of-ethereum-sandeep-nailwal-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-L2 push could \u2018break the social fabric\u2019 of Ethereum \u2014 Sandeep Nailwal &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-v-93e1f8b6=\"\">\n<p>A portion of the Ethereum community is pressuring the Ethereum Foundation to make decisions that may \u201cbreak the entire social fabric\u201d of the smart contract network by restricting Ethereum&#8217;s layer-2 (L2) networks, Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during a March 28 episode of Cointelegraph&#8217;s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/0xPolygon\/status\/1905589465327796594\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">Chain Reaction<\/a> show on X, the Polygon founder said that he has only seen this type of pressure and anti-L2 rhetoric during the current market cycle amid <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/ethereum-price-in-cursed-downtrend-which-could-continue-well-into-2025-analyst\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">suppressed price action for Ether<\/a> (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/ethereum-price\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">ETH<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody understands that if Ethereum doesn\u2019t survive, the layer-2s won\u2019t survive,\u201d Nailwal said, adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Ethereum community should not pressure the developers enough \u2014 I should not be able to pressure the developers enough \u2014 for price movements and all that, they may end up making a decision that completely breaks the social fabric of Ethereum.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Polygon co-founder praised Vitalik Buterin\u2019s leadership and his <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/vitalik-buterin-ethereum-leadership-debate\" rel=\"\" target=\"_self\" text=\"null\" title=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/vitalik-buterin-ethereum-leadership-debate\">more active role in the Ethereum Foundation<\/a>, saying he has been the biggest force in keeping Ethereum&#8217;s ecosystem cohesive.<\/p>\n<p>Nailwal characterized Buterin as the \u201cDNA&#8221; of the network that has attracted many talented developers over the years who are building layers on top of the Ethereum base layer.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><em>The total value secured across Ethereum\u2019s scaling solutions.
