CERT-In warnss that vulnerabilities in older vesions of Google Chrome on Windows, macOS, and Linux are currently being exploited by attackers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-1\">\n<h2>What&#8217;s the issue?<\/h2>\n<p>CERT-In states that versions of Google Chrome prior to 136.0.7103.113\/.114 on <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/news\/india\/windows-collapse-shop-flies-massive-dust-storm-wreaks-havoc-in-noida-nearby-area-watch-viral-videos-11747482114020.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Windows\">Windows<\/a> and Mac, and prior to 136.0.7103.113 on Linux, contain multiple security vulnerabilities which could be exploited by the attackers. These vulnerabilities stem from:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-2\">\n<p>\u2022 Insufficient policy enforcement in the browser loader\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-3\">\n<p>\u2022 Incorrect handling in Mojo, a component used for inter-process communication in Chromium-based browsers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-4\">\n<p>CERT-In says that the target audience for these attacks could be all end-user organization and individuals using Google Chrome.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-5\">\n<h2>What could go wrong?<\/h2>\n<p>According to CERT-In, the vulnerabilities in <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/infographic\/mint-data-bites\/google-chrome-rules-the-browser-market-with-66-share-11747308411859.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Google Chrome\">Google Chrome<\/a> could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code, essentially giving them control of a user\u2019s system. This could lead to:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-6\">\n<p>\u2022 Disclosure of sensitive data<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-7\">\n<p>\u2022 Compromise of system integrity<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-8\">\n<p>\u2022 Potential malware injection or spyware installation<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-9\">\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/technology\/tech-news\/beware-whatsapp-users-cert-in-flags-high-severity-vulnerability-in-windows-desktop-app-here-s-how-to-stay-safe-11744278903229.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"CERT-In\">CERT-In<\/a> also warns that one of the flaws is particularly critical since it is already being used by attackers for real-world attack, making it an urgent threat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"article-index-10\">\n<h2>What should you do?<\/h2>\n<p>The good news is that CERT-In assures that these vulnerabilities have already been fixed in the latest version of Google Chrome for Desktop.
