{"id":399563,"date":"2025-07-24T11:08:49","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T05:38:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/ethereum-exit-queue-surges-as-eth-drops-7-from-2025-high-crypto-news\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T11:50:40","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T06:20:40","slug":"ethereum-exit-queue-surges-as-eth-drops-7-from-2025-high-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/ethereum-exit-queue-surges-as-eth-drops-7-from-2025-high-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethereum Exit Queue Surges As ETH Drops 7% From 2025 High &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-v-43e640e6=\"\">\n<p>Ether dipped more than 7% from its 2025 high as the queue for validators and investors to unstake the asset hit an 18-month high on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ethereum is a proof-of-stake network that requires validators to stake the asset and lock up funds to secure the network.<\/p>\n<p>Validators that want to exit Ethereum\u2019s staking system need to go through a validator exit queue, \u201cand in the past few days, the number has absolutely surged,\u201d staking protocol Everstake <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/eth_everstake\/status\/1948052789730451685\" rel=\"https:\/\/x.com\/eth_everstake\/status\/1948052789730451685\" target=\"https:\/\/x.com\/eth_everstake\/status\/1948052789730451685\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/eth_everstake\/status\/1948052789730451685\">reported<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>There is currently 644,330 ETH worth around $2.34 billion lined up to leave with an 11-day wait, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/www.validatorqueue.com\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"null\">according<\/a> to ValidatorQueue. There was a similar spike in the exit queue in January 2024 when ETH prices fell 15% in the second half of the month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Unstaking could mean validators are looking to free up the asset for sale, but that isn\u2019t always the case.<\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/everstake-defends-non-everstake-sec-non-custodial-staking-guidance-staking-as-sec-weighs-industry-input\" title=\"null\">Everstake<\/a> said that it wasn\u2019t a sign of fear or collapse, but a \u201cshift,\u201d adding that validators are likely exiting to \u201crestake, optimize or rotate operators, not leaving Ethereum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They added that investors and holders also may want to lock in profits, \u201cbecause it\u2019s natural to assume that some stakers are preparing to sell, which could create short-term sell pressure and potentially lead to a price correction.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Ethereum validator exit queue surges. Source: <\/em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/www.validatorqueue.com\/\" rel=\"https:\/\/www.validatorqueue.com\/\" target=\"https:\/\/www.validatorqueue.com\/\" title=\"https:\/\/www.validatorqueue.com\/\"><em>ValidatorQueue<\/em><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Profit taking or repositioning?\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>Despite the apparent exodus, there is also 390,000 ETH worth around $1.2 billion in the entry queue, meaning that the net amount being unstaked is only around 255,000 ETH.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the entry queue has significantly increased since early June, which was when Ether treasury companies such as SharpLink and Bitmine started <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/sharplink-buys-259-million-in-ether-price-surge\" title=\"null\">aggressively accumulating<\/a> the asset.
