{"id":400349,"date":"2025-07-31T03:45:48","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T22:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/trump-white-house-releases-crypto-regulation-report-crypto-news\/"},"modified":"2025-07-31T03:50:06","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T22:20:06","slug":"trump-white-house-releases-crypto-regulation-report-crypto-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dripp.zone\/news\/trump-white-house-releases-crypto-regulation-report-crypto-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump White House Releases Crypto Regulation Report &#8211; Crypto News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-v-43e640e6=\"\">\n<p>The US President Donald Trump\u2019s Working Group on Digital Assets released its long-promised crypto report outlining policy recommendations for regulating crypto in the United States, including crypto market structure, jurisdictional oversight, banking regulations, promoting US dollar hegemony through stablecoins and taxation of cryptocurrencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-market-structure-draft-senate-clarity-act\" title=\"null\">Establishing a \u201ctaxonomy\u201d of digital assets<\/a> by clearly defining which cryptocurrencies are securities and which are commodities was the first issue outlined in the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Digital-Assets-Report-EO14178.pdf\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"null\">report<\/a>, released on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to recommendations in the document, jurisdictional oversight over digital assets should be shared between the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), with the CFTC having <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/trump-plans-cftc-for-crypto-regulator-report\" title=\"null\">oversight over spot crypto markets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Advisors in the President\u2019s Working Group on Digital Assets and industry executives met for the White House Crypto Summit in March. Commodity tokens should be governed by the CFTC, while other tokens deemed to be securities will be subject to SEC oversight. The authors of the report said a clearly defined crypto market structure would make the US a global leader in digital assets. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cA rational regulatory framework for digital assets is the best way to catalyze American innovation, protect investors from fraud, and keep our capital markets the envy of the world,\u201d SEC Chair Paul Atkins <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/newsroom\/speeches-statements\/atkins-pwg-073005\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"null\">wrote<\/a> in response to the report.<\/p>\n<p><template data-ct-widget=\"buzzsprout\" data-buzzsprout-podcast-id=\"2040516\" data-buzzsprout-episode-id=\"17562182\"\/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related: <\/strong><\/em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/trump-crypto-working-group-calls-regulatory-clarity\" title=\"null\"><em><strong>Trump\u2019s crypto working group pushes for clearer rules as adoption grows<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Banking regulations should be eased, clearly defined<\/h2>\n<p>Allowing banks the ability to custody crypto and provide digital asset services to customers was a key policy proposal outlined by the working group.<\/p>\n<p>The group recommended that banking regulators streamline the process to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/anchorage-gets-occ-s-first-national-charter-to-a-crypto-bank\" title=\"null\">acquire a bank charter<\/a> and make the requirements more transparent.<\/p>\n<p>Stablecoins and payments were also outlined in the report, touching on the need to embrace stablecoins to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/us-stablecoins-ensure-dollar-hegemony-scott-bessent\" title=\"null\">protect the US dollar\u2019s hegemony<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, the authors urged Congress to pass the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/tom-emmer-anti-cbdc-bill-reintroduced\" title=\"null\">CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act<\/a> and prohibit the research and development of a central bank digital currency in the US.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"US Government, United States, Donald Trump\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-07\/019824bd-3db3-7adf-9859-9a10220aae53\" title=\"\"\/><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>US President Trump signs the GENIUS stablecoin bill.
