The crypto industry could be set for a flood of new crypto exchange-traded funds in October, with the US Securities and Exchange Commission set to make their final decisions on 16 crypto ETFs next month.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The ETFs are connected to a variety of major altcoins<\/a>, including Solana (SOL<\/a>), XRP (XRP<\/a>), Litecoin (LTC<\/a>) and memecoin Dogecoin (DOGE<\/a>), which have final deadlines scattered throughout October.<\/p>\n Up for approval first is decentralized exchange Canary\u2019s Litecoin ETF, with a deadline of Oct. 2, followed by asset manager Grayscale\u2019s Solana and Litecoin trust conversion on Oct. 10 and ending with WisdomTree\u2019s XRP fund on Oct. 24, according<\/a> to a list of upcoming approvals created by Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart.<\/p>\n The decision could happen anytime before the final deadline. <\/p>\n Analysts from the Bitfinex crypto exchange predicted in August<\/a> that a new altcoin season or rally could be sparked off the back of crypto ETF approvals that provide investors with exposure to the coins with less risk.\u00a0<\/p>\n ETF analyst and NovaDius Wealth Management president Nate Geraci said<\/a> in an X post on Monday that it will be an \u201cEnormous next few weeks for spot crypto ETFs,\u201d because of all the filings approaching deadlines.<\/p>\n \u201cStarts this week with deadline on Canary spot Litcoin ETF. Will be followed by decisions on sol, doge, xrp, ada, & hbar ETFs, though SEC can approve any or all of these whenever,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, crypto trader Daan Crypto Trades styled October as \u201cETF month\u201d but noted<\/a> that two major players, Fidelity and BlackRock, are absent from the list.<\/p>\n \u201cNone of the ones with the deadline in October were issued by Fidelity or BlackRock, which are the two major players in the Crypto ETF space. Regardless, might be something to watch out for in the weeks ahead,\u201d Daan Crypto Trades said.<\/p>\n In June, Seyffart placed<\/a> odds of the SEC approving the various crypto ETFs coming up for a final deadline in October at 90% or higher sometime in 2025.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The SEC has delayed decisions on multiple<\/a> crypto ETFs throughout 2025, setting several new deadlines; however, the regulator has also taken steps toward shortening the timelines amid a friendlier approach to crypto<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Related: <\/strong><\/em>REX-Osprey crypto ETFs to launch Friday barring SEC objection \u2014 Bloomberg analyst<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n The SEC approved a new listing standard<\/a> for commodity-based trust shares on Sept. 17 that could shorten the path to launching future spot crypto ETFs.\u00a0<\/p>\n Seyffart said<\/a> at the time, the policy change would be a positive move toward a \u201cwave of spot crypto ETP launches.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Fellow ETF analyst Eric Balchunas also speculated there could be many more soon, pointing<\/a> to 22 coins with futures on Coinbase that were \u201celigible for spot ETF-ization.\u201d<\/p>\n Since the change in listing standards, asset manager Hashdex has already expanded its crypto ETF<\/a> to include XRP, Solana and Stellar (XLM<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n\u2018Enormous\u2019 next few weeks in ETFs<\/h2>\n
