Pound Sterling slumps as UK inflation growth cools down<\/h2>\n

The Pound Sterling (GBP) faces intense selling pressure<\/strong> against its major peers on Wednesday after the release of the United Kingdom (UK) Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for September.<\/p>\n

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported that the core CPI \u2013 which excludes volatile components of food, energy, alcohol and tobacco \u2013 grew by a less-than-expected 3.5% on an annual basis.
