After market hours, it rose by another 14% to $ 23.50.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Is the DAT sell-off bad for ETH?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the selling of the underlying ETH to fund share buybacks could be a risk to the altcoin. increasing debt.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mNAV or Market-to-Net-Asset-Value ratio allows DATs to raise capital and buy more ETH if it trades at a premium.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But if the <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blockworks.com\/analytics\/treasury-companies\/ethereum-treasury-companies\/ethereum-treasury-companies-outstanding-mnav\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mNAV<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is at a discount, like most DATs are at the moment (including ETHZilla), [BTBT]<\/a> had an mNAV of 2. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/inside-bitmines-3m-ethereum-vault-discount-window-or-dead-money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Bitmine [BMNR]<\/a> and GameSquare (GAME) had a reading of 1, while the rest were below 1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In other words, if most of the ETH DATs were to go to the ETHZilla way in the short term, the sell pressure would cap ETH\u2019s price action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The DATs <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.strategicethreserve.xyz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">control 5% of the ETH supply<\/a> (about 6 million ETH) while ETFs hold 5.6%.
